MALE RHINOPLASTY IN ANTALYA
Male rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure used to modify specific structures of the nose according to individual nasal anatomy, facial proportions and, when relevant, nasal function. Surgery may involve the nasal bridge, bones, cartilage, nasal tip, nostrils or internal supporting structures.

WHAT IS MALE RHINOPLASTY?
Male rhinoplasty refers to rhinoplasty surgery performed for a male patient. It does not describe one specific nasal shape or surgical technique.
Each nose has different structural characteristics. Nasal length, bridge height, tip projection, cartilage strength, skin thickness and facial proportions can vary considerably between individuals.
For this reason, surgical planning focuses on the existing anatomy and the specific changes being considered rather than attempting to create a standardised appearance.
Depending on the examination, surgery may address:
- Nasal bridge shape.
- Nasal width.
- Nasal tip position or definition.
- Nasal projection.
- Nostril shape.
- Nasal asymmetry.
- Changes following previous trauma.
- Relevant internal structures affecting nasal airflow.
HOW IS THE NOSE EVALUATED BEFORE SURGERY?
Rhinoplasty planning begins with examination of the nose from several angles.
The front view provides information about width, symmetry and the relationship between the nasal bones, tip and nostrils.
The profile view allows assessment of bridge contour, nasal length, tip projection and the relationship between the nose, forehead, lips and chin.
The base of the nose is also examined to assess nostril shape, tip support and symmetry.
Photographs may be used to document the existing nasal anatomy and assist with surgical planning.
Natural facial asymmetry is common and should be identified before surgery.
WHY ARE FACIAL PROPORTIONS IMPORTANT?
The appearance of the nose is influenced by the surrounding facial structures.
A change in nasal projection, bridge height or tip position can alter the way the nose relates visually to the chin, jawline and forehead.
For this reason, rhinoplasty cannot be planned accurately using nasal measurements alone.
The aim of the examination is to determine how the requested nasal changes relate to the individual facial structure while preserving appropriate support and function.
HOW DOES SKIN THICKNESS AFFECT RHINOPLASTY?
Nasal skin covers the underlying bone and cartilage framework and therefore influences how structural changes become visible externally.
Thicker skin can soften the visibility of smaller structural details and may retain swelling for longer, particularly around the nasal tip.
Thinner skin may reveal the underlying framework more clearly.
Skin thickness does not determine a single surgical technique, but it is an important factor when planning cartilage modification, structural support and postoperative expectations.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OPEN AND CLOSED RHINOPLASTY?
Rhinoplasty can be performed using open or closed surgical access.
Closed rhinoplasty
In closed rhinoplasty, the incisions are positioned inside the nostrils.
Open rhinoplasty
Open rhinoplasty uses internal incisions together with a small incision across the columella, the tissue located between the nostrils.
The choice of approach depends on the nasal structures requiring treatment, previous surgery, the degree of access required and individual anatomy. Neither approach is automatically appropriate for every patient.
HOW CAN THE NASAL BRIDGE BE CHANGED?
The nasal bridge contains both bone and cartilage.
Depending on the existing anatomy, surgical planning may involve reducing, reshaping, repositioning or supporting selected structures.
A visible prominence on the bridge may involve bone, cartilage or both. Other noses may require preservation or additional structural support rather than reduction.
Bridge planning is also connected to tip position. Changing one region can influence the visual relationship with another part of the nose.
HOW IS THE NASAL TIP ADDRESSED?
The nasal tip is primarily supported by cartilage.
Surgery may involve reshaping, repositioning or supporting these cartilages according to the existing anatomy.
Factors evaluated include:
- Tip width.
- Tip projection.
- Tip rotation.
- Cartilage strength.
- Symmetry.
- Skin thickness.
- Nostril relationship.
Maintaining adequate structural support is important because the nasal tip contributes to both external shape and nasal function.
MALE RHINOPLASTY AND NASAL BREATHING
A rhinoplasty assessment should also consider breathing when symptoms are present.
Nasal obstruction can have several possible causes, including changes involving the septum, nasal valves, turbinates or structures affected by previous trauma or surgery.
Aesthetic rhinoplasty does not automatically correct every breathing problem.
When nasal obstruction is reported, the relevant internal structures should be examined so that any functional component can be considered separately within the medical and surgical plan.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING MALE RHINOPLASTY SURGERY?
The incisions are then closed, and an external nasal splint may be applied during early recovery. Internal support may also be used when required.

I went to Antalya to originally get a scar revision and abdominal etching as due to a previous botched surgery, I was left with a horrible keloid scar and uneven abdominal. I was very hesitant at first due to my previous experience. But Dr.Seckin is well recommended by a close friend. He made me feel at ease with the operation. HOW LONG DOES SWELLING LAST?
The most visible swelling generally decreases progressively during the first weeks.
However, rhinoplasty healing continues for considerably longer.
The nasal tip often retains swelling longer than the bridge, and subtle changes in definition can continue for several months.
For this reason, early appearance should not be considered the final result.
The appropriate timing for evaluation depends on the extent of surgery, skin characteristics and individual healing.
CAN MALE RHINOPLASTY CORRECT ASYMMETRY?
Rhinoplasty can be planned to address specific structural asymmetries.
However, exact symmetry cannot be guaranteed because the nose and surrounding facial skeleton commonly have natural differences between the two sides.
Previous trauma can also create asymmetry involving both nasal bones and internal structures.
These differences are documented before surgery and considered during planning.

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure and involves potential complications.
Possible risks include:
