Privacy Policy

We ask for as little as possible, we use it only to answer you properly, and we never pass it on to anyone who is not involved in your care. This page sets out the detail.

1. Who we are

This website is run by the aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery practice of Seckin Oksar, MD in Antalya, Türkiye. When you send us an enquiry, we decide why and how your information is used, which makes us the data controller for it — under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Law No. 6698) and, where you are writing to us from the United Kingdom or the European Union, under the UK and EU GDPR as well.

2. What this policy covers

It covers this website and the enquiries that reach us through it — the consultation form, WhatsApp, email and telephone.

Once you become a patient, your clinical record is held separately, at the practice and at the hospital where your operation takes place, under the rules that apply to medical records in Türkiye. Those records are not governed by this website policy, and we will explain them to you in writing before anything is scheduled.

3. What we collect

Only what you choose to give us, plus the small amount of technical information every website receives.

What you send us through the consultation form:

your first and last name
your email address
your country code and telephone number
the procedure you are asking about
whatever you write in the message box
which page of this site you sent the enquiry from

What you send us afterwards: anything you add by email, WhatsApp or telephone — including photographs, if you choose to send them — and the answers you give when we ask about your general health.

What your browser sends: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and when. These are used to keep the site running and secure, not to build a profile of you.

This site sets no cookies of its own and carries no advertising or tracking pixels. The one piece of browser storage we use is a single flag that remembers you closed the consultation panel, and your browser discards it when you close the tab.

4. Health information and photographs

If you tell us about your health, or send photographs of the area you want treated, that is special category data and we treat it accordingly. We ask for it only because we cannot give you an honest answer without it.

We use it to let Dr. Oksar assess whether a procedure suits you and to plan it properly. Nothing more.

Your photographs are never published, shown to anyone outside the clinical team, or used in the before & after gallery, on social media or in any other material unless you have given separate written consent for exactly that. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and we will remove the images from our own channels. Material already printed or already shared onward by others may not be fully recoverable, and we will tell you honestly where that is the case.

5. Why we use your information, and on what legal basis

To answer your enquiry and prepare an opinion or quotation — your explicit consent, and the steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract.
To assess your suitability for surgery (health details, photographs) — your explicit consent for special category data.
To arrange and carry out your treatment — performance of our contract with you, and the provision of health care by a regulated professional.
To keep medical records and meet reporting duties — our legal obligations under Turkish health legislation.
To keep the website secure and working, and to defend a legal claim if one arises — our legitimate interests, weighed against your rights.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. That does not undo what we lawfully did before you withdrew it.

6. Who sees it

Dr. Oksar and the clinical and administrative staff of the practice;
our international patient coordinator, when your enquiry is in a language or time zone she handles;
the hospital, anaesthetic and nursing team — only if you decide to go ahead with surgery, and only what they need to treat you safely;
the companies that host this website, run our content management system and carry our email, acting on our instructions as processors and under contract;
our accountants and lawyers, and any public authority, where the law in Türkiye requires it.

We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers or data brokers. Ever.

7. Services we embed from other companies

A few parts of this site are served by others, and your browser contacts them directly:

Google Fonts — the typefaces used throughout the site;
Google Maps — the map on the contact page;
YouTube — our videos load in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and only after you press play; until then, only a still image is fetched;
WhatsApp and Instagram — links, not embeds. Nothing is sent to them until you click.

When those requests happen, the companies concerned receive your IP address and handle it under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

8. Where your information goes

We are based in Türkiye, and that is where your enquiry is read and stored. Some of our providers process data on servers inside and outside the European Economic Area.

If you are writing from the UK or the EU, this means your data is transferred to a country outside your own. We make that transfer on the basis of your explicit consent and because it is necessary to take the steps you have asked for before a contract — the grounds set out in Article 9 of the KVKK and Article 49 of the UK and EU GDPR. We take the same care with it there as we would anywhere.

9. How long we keep it

An enquiry that does not lead to treatment — kept for up to 24 months so we can pick up a conversation you come back to, then deleted.
Photographs sent for assessment — deleted with the enquiry, unless you become a patient, in which case they form part of your clinical record.
Patient records — kept for the minimum period Turkish health legislation requires, and no longer.
Server logs — kept for a short period by our hosting provider, then overwritten.

10. Your rights

Whether you write to us from Türkiye, the UK or elsewhere, you can ask us to:

tell you whether we hold data about you, and give you a copy;
correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
delete it, where there is no legal reason for us to keep it;
restrict or object to a particular use;
send it to you, or to another provider, in a portable format;
withdraw a consent you gave us earlier, including consent to publish photographs.

Write to info@drseckinoksar.com and we will answer within 30 days, free of charge. We may ask you to confirm who you are first — not to delay you, but so that we never hand your information to someone else.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) at kvkk.gov.tr, or to the data protection authority where you live — the ICO in the United Kingdom.

11. Keeping it safe

The site is served over HTTPS, enquiries reach us through an encrypted connection, and access to them is limited to the people listed above. Clinical photographs are kept apart from general correspondence. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise — but if something ever went wrong with your data we would tell you, and the authorities, as the law requires.

12. Children

This website is not directed at children. We treat patients under 18 only in specific circumstances and only with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, who should make the enquiry on their behalf.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. For a change that materially affects you, we will tell you directly.
